Black Chana Vada Recipe | How to make Black Chana Vada | (Senagala Vadalu)

Hi friends, Thank you all for visiting my website and #EATeasyvegrecipes youtube channel. Today's recipe is black chana vada. Black chana or kala chana or kommu senagalu as in Telugu are very good for health. They are also know as black chickpeas. They are protein rich food and also controls cholestoral. They are also good for heart health. We can enjoy these power packed food in salads, can make curry too. To enjoy it more we can make vada with them.
I am fond of any recipe with these black chana, particlarly black chana vada. Whenever we go to our in-laws place my MIL used to make it a point to prepare black chana vada at home for me specially. Black chana vada recipe is very easy and tasty too. Black chana vada can be served as side dish for rice too.

Black Chana Vada


Black Chana Vada -- healthy evening tea time snacks.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Black Chana
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 to 4 Green Chillis
  • 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Flour
  • Oil for Frying
Procedure:
  1. Wash and soak black chana for 8 hours or over night.
  2. Drain excess water and tie them in the cloth.
  3. Let the water draing completely, it may take 1 to 2 hours.
  4. We can do this process before hand and keep them ready also.
  5. Even if the black chana sprouted also no problem.
  6. Chop onion, green chillis and coriander leaves.
  7. Grind the black chana coarsely.
  8. In a wide bowl, add grinded black chana, rice flour, and salt.
  9. Add red chilli powder and cumin seeds. Mix all of them well.
  10. Add chopped onions, green chillis and coriander leaves.
  11. Add rice flour and once again mix them well.
  12. Heat oil till the fumes out.
  13. Make small patties and slowly drop them in the hot oil.
  14. 5 to 7 goes at once.
  15. But againg it depends on the amount of oil and the size of the kadai we use.
  16. Fry them in low flame.
  17. Once they turn brown in colour, transfer them on to an absorbent paper.
  18. Serve black chana vada hot with tomato ketchup.
