Dosakaya Pachi Pachadi Recipe | Yellow Cucumber Coriander Leaves Chutney | How to make Dosakaya Pachi Pachadi

Hi friends, Today's recipe is Dosakaya Pachi Pachadi. I don't know about other places, we get yellow cucumber in Telugu states. In Telugu yellow cucumber is called as dosakaya. Dosakaya tastes a little sour. Of course sometimes we get very bitter dosakaya also, we have to discard them. Normally we make different varieties with dosakaya like
dosakaya pappu,
dosakaya avakaya,
dosakaya pulusu,
dosakaya pachadi,
dosakaya kalchina pachadi,
and dosakaya chintakaya pachadi.
In this post I am showing you another version of making dosakaya pachadi with coriander leaves and green chillies.
Dosakaya pachi pachadi is the best accompaniment for rice. For that matter any recipe made with dosakaya is the best side dish for rice. Dosakaya kothimeera pachadi can be prepared in a jiffy, just to put tadka we need to stove top.

Dosakaya pachi pachadi

Dosakaya Pachi Pachadi or Dosakaya kothimeera mukkala pachadi best side dish for rice.

Ingredients:
  • 1 huge Yellow Cucumber
  • 1 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 4 to 6 Green Chillis
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1/2 Tsp Tamarind
  • 1/2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Black Gram
  • 1/4 Tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • 1 Tsp Asafoetida

  • Procedure:
    1. Peel the skin and chop dosakaya.
    2. We can use or discard flesh and seeds present in the center of dosakaya depending on the quantity of it.
    3. If it is less use it in pachadi or else discard it.
    4. Before using dosakaya we need to check the taste. if it is bitter we have to throw it and take another one for pachadi.
    5. Soak tamarind in little water for 5 minutes.
    6. Chop and wash coriander leaves. Keep them aside.
    7. In a blender jar add green chillies, salt and tamarind.
    8. Blend them into coarse paste.
    9. Add coriander leaves to it and again blend it into a fine paste.
    10. Do not add water at all.
    11. Add the above grinded mixture to the chopped dosakaya pieces. Mix it well.
    12. In a kadai, heat oil add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, black gram, red chilli and asafoetida.
    13. Allow them to splutter and add the tadka to the above pachadi.
    14. Serve dosakaya pachi pachadi with hot piping rice.
