Gongura Pulusu recipe is a stew made with gongura, it is commonly made in Telugu households.
Ingredients:
Procedure:
- Discard gongura leaves from the stem.
- Wash and dry them on a cloth.
- Chop onion. Soak tamarind and extract thin juice.
- Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel or pan.
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and red chilli. Saute them till they splutter.
- Add garlic and green chilli. Saute them too.
- Add chopped onion and saute it till they turn translucent.
- Add tamarind juice, add 2 cups water.
- Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
- Allow this concoction to boil.
- When it reaches rolling boiling, add til/sesame seeds powder.
- Mix it well and allow this to cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve gongura pulusu with hot piping rice.
