Idli is one of the important breakfast of South India. So let us make it more healthy way. Jowar idli recipe without rice is one such healthy way of making idli. I tried to make jowar idli in different ways, but they are turned out to be hard and difficult ones. But when I found Jowar rava, I thought of giving a try instead of idli rava. It came really nice and no one at home could make out the difference. So I liked it very much, jowar idli rava. We get the jowar rava to make jowar idli recipe in BigBasket or Amazon. Jowar Idli Recipe

Jowar idli is the best breakfast recipe, helps in improving digestion and also helps in weight reduction.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Urad Dal/Black Gram
  • 1 Cup Jowar Rava
  • Salt to Taste
  • Ingredient 4

  • Procedure:
    1. Soak urad dal and jowar rava for 3 to 4 hours separately.
    2. Grind urad dal to make smooth and soft batter.
    3. Drain excess water from jowar rava and keep aside.
    4. Once the urad dal is made smooth and soft batter, add the jowar rava.
    5. Mix them well. Add salt and again mix them well.
    6. Allow this jowar rava idli batter to ferment for 8 to 10 hours.
    7. When ready to make idlis, grease the idli moulds.
    8. Pour a ladle full or half of the ladle in the idli moulds.
    9. Place the idli plates in the cooker or steamer.
    10. Steam the idlis for 15 to 20 mins in high flame and another 5 mins in low flame.
    11. Serve Jowar idli recipe with any spicy chutney, I served it with street style tomato chutney.
