Biyyam Rava Pulihora -- is a one pot recipe South Indian broken rice based recipe.
Ingredients:
Procedure:
- Slit green chillies, finely chop ginger.
- Soak tamarind for half an hour.
- Extract juice from the tamarind and keep aside.
- In a thick bottomed kadai, add water, a spoonful of oil.
- Let the water come to rolling boil.
- Add the rice rava/biyyam rava.
- Mix it well and allow it to cook.
- Once the biyyam rava cooked softly, remove from heat and spread on a wide plate.
- Let it cool completely.
- Againg heat oil in a kadai, add peanuts.
- Fry them and let them turn light brown, add black gram and bengal gram.
- Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- Allow them to splutter, add hing.
- Add slit green chillies and chopped ginger.
- Fry them for a while. Add turmeric powder and salt.
- Add tamarind juice and mix it well.
- Let the tamarind juci cook till it becomes thick.
- And the tamarind paste leaves oil.
- Switch off the flame and add the the above paste to the cooked biyyam rava.
- Mix it well so that all the tamarind paste combines well with the biyyam rava.
- Serve biyyam rava pulihora recipe with pachi pulusu.
