Garlic Rasam Recipe -- How to make Rasam with Garlic and Peppercorns

Hi, Thank you friends and viewers. Today I will post how to make garlic rasam recipe.
Garlic rasam is tangy and spicy rasam recipe. It can be taken as it is or we can serve it with hot piping rice. We can different varieties of garlic rasams.


Garlic Rasam

Spicy rasam made with garlic and peppercorns

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Tamarind Juice
  • 10 - 15 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 5 to 7 Curry LEaves
  • 4 to 6 Coriander Leaves
Procedure:
  1. Soak tamarind and take juice of it.
  2. Grind garlic, red chilli and black pepper to make a coarse powder.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan, add mustard seeds, cumins seeds, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  4. Once they start spluttering add garlic, pepper powder.
  5. Fry them for two minutes, add tamarind juice to it.
  6. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of water if necessary.
  7. Add salt and turmeric powder. Allow it to boil for five minutes.
  8. Serve hot piping Garlic rasam with rice.
