Ingredients:
- 6 medium Tomatoes
- 1 Cup Curd
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 Tsp Sugar
- 2 Green Chillis
- 4 to 5 Curry Leaves
- 1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 Tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Tsp Oil
- 1/4 Tsp Hing/Asafoetida
- Fistful of Coriander Leaves
Procedure:
- Cut tomatoes into four parts. Slit green chillis.
- Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.
- When they started spluttering add curry leaves and slit green chillis.
- Add tomatoes, saute them for a while.
- Add salt, turmeric powder and sugar.
- Combine them well.
- Allow the tomatoes to cook completely. This may take 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once the tomatoes become soft and mushy switch off the flame and cool them.
- Let the cooked tomatoes cool completely.
- Whisk curd and add it to the cooked tomatoes.
- Combine the curd and tomatoes well.
- Serve tomato perugu pachadi with roti or rice.
