Menthi Kutu

In my earlier post I published how to do menthi kutu podi. This post is about how to use that podi. 


Thick and Sour Butter Milk - 1/2 cup or according to the 
Salt - to taste
Red Chilli Powder - 1 or 2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 5 to 7
Asafoetida - 1 tsp

For Tempering:

Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
Black Gram - 1 tsp
Bengal Gram - 1 tsp
Red Chillies -2 (cut into two or three pieces)

Procedure for making Menthi Kutu:

Add menthi kutu powder in thick and sour butter milk. Mix it well. 
Heat oil in a pan and add all the ingredients under 'For Tempering' and curryleaves. Once they start crackling add them to the above mix and add salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida. 
Mix it well. 
This will be in semi liquid state. Serve it with hot piping rice or roti.
