Palak Paneer
As a South Indian I like some of North Indian dishes, among them palak paneer is one. I have made paneer last week, we cannot store it for more than two days. So to make the best use of it I made this dish.  It is made with paneer cooked with palak or spinach puree and added condiments. Serve it with roti, naan and also with jeera rice.

Ingredients:
  • 3 Cups Palak/Spinach - 2 cups
  • 200 Grms Paneer
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger Garlci Paste
  • 3 to 5 Cloves
  • 2" Long Cinnamon Stick
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 Tbsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Oil/Ghee
Procedure:
  1. Wash palak and blanch it in boiling water.
  2. Cut onion into small pieces.
  3. Drain excess water and wash under running water to cool.
  4. Add it to a blender jar and make a fine paste of it.
  5. Cut paneer also into cubes.
  6. Heat oil/ghee in a thick bottoem kadai, add cloves and cinnamon sticks.
  7. Once they start spluttering add chopped onions.
  8. Add salt and Saute them till they turn translucent.
  9. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and coriander powder.
  10. Mix it well and allow this to cook for a while.
  11. Add palak paste to it and mix it well.
  12. Allow this to boil for a while.
  13. Add paneer cubes and mix again well.
  14. Add water and allow this boil.
  15. Let it cook till the gravy thickens.
  16. Serve palak paneer with roti, chapati or jeera rice.
