Hi friends, thank you all for visiting my website and @EATeasyvegrecipes youtube channel. Today's recipe is sabudana vada. Sabudana is called saggubiyyam in Telugu. Sabudana contains a high amount of carbohydrates, making it a fast energy booster. We usually make fryums with sabudana. And also sabudana kheer. Sometimes we make sabudana khichdi too. It is the dish of choice when an individual observe a "fast" during Shivratri, Navratri, or any other Hindu religious occasion. It is typically prepared in Indian states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.Sabudana vada is also considered as fast recipe only. But in my house we do not eat anything cooked during fast. So I prepare it as an evening snack to be served with tea. Sabudana vada is a Maharashtra recipe made from tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes and crushed peanuts and spices. Sabudana vada is a deep-fried fritters. It is the authentic sabudana vada recipe, I learned it from cousin. Aloo sabudana vada recipe often served with green chutney or tomato ketch up.

Sabudana Vada Recipe


Sabudana Vada -- made during festival fasting and served with hot cup of tea and spicy green chutney.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Sabudana/ Saggubiyyam
  • 1/4 Cup Peanuts
  • 2 to 3 Green Chillis
  • 3" Long Ginger
  • 1 Potato
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • Oil for frying
Procedure:
  1. Soak sabudana for 4 to 5 hours.
  2. It can be soaked overnight also.
  3. Boil potato and mash it well.
  4. Chop green chillis, ginger and coriander leaves. Keep aside.
  5. Dry roast peanuts and remove the skin.
  6. Grind them coarsely. Keep them aside.
  7. In a wide mixing bowl add all the ingredients one after the other.
  8. Soaked sabudana, coarsely grinded peanuts, ginger, green chilli and coriander leaves.
  9. Add salt and cumin seeds.
  10. And lastly add lemon juice and mix all of them gently.
  11. Once all of them combined well, start kneading it gently.
  12. Knead it till it form a small ball.
  13. Once the sabudana vada dough mixed well to form a firm vada.
  14. Make all the dough into vadas.
  15. Keep them ready.
  16. Heat oil in a kadai.
  17. The oil should not be too hot.
  18. Drop each vada into the hot oil.
  19. Allow them to cook for a minute in low flame only.
  20. Slowly turn them after a minute only.
  21. Once the sabudana vada turn golden brown, transfer them onto a kitchen towel.
  22. Repeat the same with all of the them.
  23. Serve sabudana vada with green chutney or sauce.

During my childhood days, we used to call them as eggs and felt elated whenever my mom fry them. It is another no onion and no garlic recipe. A very simple and easy recipe to be accompanied with hot piping rice. These baby potatoes are used to make Dum Aloo also. Baby potato fry is as the name goes babies favorite dish. They would enjoy them very well.

Palak Poriyal Recipe | How to make palak poriyal | (spinach poriyal)

Palak Poriyal Recipe

Palak Poriyal -- side dish for rice and roti.

Ingredients:
  • 3 Cups Palak/Spinach
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Cup Fresh Coconut
  • 3 to 4 Green Chillis
  • 3" Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Gram/Urad Dal
  • 1/2 Tsp Bengal Gram/Chana Dal
  • 3to 4 Garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
Procedure:
  1. Discard palak leaves from its stems.
  2. Finely chop them and wash.
  3. Spread the chopped palak on a dry cloth to dry.
  4. Chop onion.
  5. In a blender jar add fresh coconut, green chillis, ginger and cumin seeds.
  6. Blend them to make paste of it.
  7. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.
  8. Once they start spluttering add urad dal and chana dal.
  9. Saute them.
  10. Add chopped onion and fry them till they become translucent.
  11. Add minced garlic and curry leaves.
  12. Add chopped and washed palak.
  13. Add salt and turmeric powder.
  14. Let the palak cook completely.
  15. Add above blended coconut chillis masala.
  16. Mix them well.
  17. Let palak poriyal cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  18. Serve palak poriyal with hot piping rice or roti.

Hi friends, Thanks to all for visiting my website and youtube channel. Today's recipe is onion potato fry curry. You may be thinking what is so special about this recipe. This recipe is special in my house. My mom and MIL both make this onion potato fry curry. Don't know who picked it from whom but very famous in our homes. Whenever we do not have curries and suddenly guests pour in for dinner, onion potato fry curry is the best recipe to rely on. It is very simple and easy to make even begginers can prepare it hassel free. The onion potato fry curry is the best accompaniment for hot piping rice. Here in this recipe I used baby potatoes which we get during the months of December and January. But we can use normalr, regula potatoes too to make this curry.

Onion Potato Fry Curry Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 6 to 8 Medium size Potatoes/ 500Grms Baby Potatoes
  • 3 to 5 Medium size Onion
  • 2 to 4 Red Chillis
  • Salt to Taste
  • 4 to 6 Tbsp Oil
  • 2 to 4 Cloves
  • 2 to 4 Garlic
  • 2" Long Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
Procedure:
  1. Wash and Peel th skin of potatoes.
  2. Add a little salt and water. Pressure cook them for 3 whistles.
  3. If using baby potatoes, first pressure cook them and then remove the skin.
  4. Grate onions or we can grind to make a coarse paste.
  5. In a blender jar add red chillis, salt, cloves, garlic and cinnamon stick.
  6. Blend them all to make a fine powder.
  7. Mix this masala to the above grated onions. Keep it aside.
  8. Once the pressure released, put the potatoes in a colander and allow them to cool.
  9. Pour chilled water to make the task fast.
  10. Cut them into a big bite size pieces.
  11. Precisely half of a potato wedge.
  12. Each potato can be made into 6 to 8 pieces only.1
  13. Heat oil till the fumes comes out.
  14. Add small portion of potato pieces and fry them. Fry them batches.
  15. Fry them till they turn crisp outside. Keep them aside.
  16. Repeat the same way till all the potatoes fried.
  17. In the last add all the potatoes in the kadai and add the above made onion masala.
  18. Fry on a high flame for 2 minutes.
  19. That's all, Isn't it simple and easy. Enjoy the curry with hot piping rice!!!
  20. Serve onion potato fry curry with hot piping rice and a spoon of ghee.
