Baby Potato Fry Recipe -- How to make Baby Potato Fry


Hi, Good Morning. Thank you, friends and viewers. Today I will post how to make baby potato fry recipe.
This is the right season we get these small baby potatoes. During my childhood days, we used to call them as eggs and felt elated whenever my mom fry them. Those were the days thinking of any non-veg or even uttering of words like eggs is also a curse. Whenever my mom brings these small baby potatoes from the market and fries them, I along with my brothers convey this message with each other in sign language or by drawing it on a piece of paper. Of course, tear it immediately as soon as the message conveyed to each other and even before mom came to know about it. :P



Baby Potato Fry

Baby Potato Fry -- South Indian delicacy served with hot piping rice.

Ingredients:
  • 200 Grams Baby Potatoes
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Garam Masala Powder
Procedure:
  1. Wash baby potatoes thoroughly and pressure cook them for three to four whistles.
  2. Once the pressure cooker cooled, transfer them onto a colander vessel, drain excess water and wash under running water.
  3. This will cool them completely and we can easily remove it's skin. Keep them aside.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai till the fumes comes out. Simmer the flame.
  5. Add little portion of baby potatoes to it, leave them like that for one to two minutes.
  6. Then slowly fry them using stainless steel spatula. Fry them till the outer part of them become crispy.
  7. Remove them from kadai and keep them aside.
  8. Repeat the same with rest of potatoes.
  9. Do not add all of them at one go, this will make them stick to each other.
  10. Fry small portions of potatoes.
  11. They should not stick to each other, so use only spatula and let the oil heat till the fumes comes out.
  12. Once all of them fried, add all of them to the kadai and add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala to it.
  13. Saute them well so that all the masalas combines well with potatoes well.
  14. Serve baby potato fry with hot piping rice.
