Atukula Atlu -- Pan Cakes with Flattened Rice

Atukula Atlu
Dosa with flattened rice or poha is really tasty breakfast. But we need to prepare for it well in advance, as the batter should be fermented. Fermentation of the batter depends on the weather conditions of the place we reside. In warm climate it ferments fast and in cold climates it takes longer time to ferment. Use only sour curd or buttermilk, this acts as a fermenting agent.
Preparation Time: 20 mins + Fermenting time
Cooking Time: 5 mins
Recipe Category: Breakfast
Recipe Cuisine: Andhra

Ingredients:

  • Poha/Flattened Rice/Atukulu - 1 cup

  11. Take a ladle full of batter and pour it on the tawa.
  12. Do not spread the batter. Allow the batter to spread on its own.
  13. Add one table spoon of oil on the dosa and cover it with a lid.
  14. Allow the dosa to cook for a minute on a medium heat till it turns light brown in colour.
  15. Flip it and again cook for half a minute without lid.
