Tomatoes are very healthy and tasty fruit. This dish is very tasty. In our house we do most of the dishes without onion and garlic. It is also one among them.
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes - 14 medium sized
- Curd - 3 cups
- Salt - to taste
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Sugar - 1/4th tsp
- Green chilies - 2
- Curry leaves - 5
- Mustard seeds - 1/4th tsp
- Custard seeds - 1/4th tsp
Procedure:
- Cut tomatoes into four parts. Slit green chillies.
- Take a thick bottomed pan, heat oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilies and curry leaves.
- When it started spluttering add tomatoes fry them for a while, add salt and turmeric powder. Add sugar also.
- Let the tomatoes cook completely. This may take 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once they are cooked and water in them also dry, allow it to cool completely.
- Once it is cooled completely, add curd to it. Mix it well.
- Serve tomato curd chutney with rice or roti.
